Now & Later

I was able to finish the quilting on this one. I did an all over swirl and in the purple border I did a different type of swirl that PieceNquilt demonstrates on her blog.
I have to laugh about it cuz it looks nothing like hers. My swirls are kinda sloppy..but does that make a quilt less comfy?  Of course not! That is one thing I appreciate about myself, I know that the quilting can only get better from here, it just takes a lot of practice.

And here is the overall finish. I think it looks cool from this view. You can't really  see the imperfections and the swirls in the border look cool! This is a charity quilt and I'm sure whoever gets this won't mind the not-so-perfect swirls either.

And then for the stripe border I just did circles...I had no idea what else to do. I am horrible at straight line quilting on the long arm. Now I just have to attach the binding.
Thanks for looking! And there are many more finishes on http://www.amylouwho.com/
Thanks for looking!

  1. are you kidding me!! this is amazing. your swirls look great. my friends mom says that if you can not see the imperfections riding by on a horse than there is nothing to worry about. i don't see any imperfections with it sitting still so....

  3. Your colors are great, but so is your quilting! When we sew, we see every stitch going in, but most of the time it is hard to find the crooked seams we once winced at. You have a great completion. I like it, and want to try your swirls, so there! Inspired me :-}pokey
