Show N' Tell Friday...

Just a little something I wanted to share with you...
I went to a garage sell and found this cute little doll cradle. It looked pretty rough .... so I gave it a little sanding a a nice coat of white paint

Then of course it needed a quilt...
This little quilt was just too simple to do. I love the fabric so I didn't want to cut it into little pieces but I'm dying to make a mini patchwork quilt...
Maybe I'll do a mini flying geese quilt or some stars?
Thanks for checking it out, make sure to look at all the other projects on amylouwho's blog.

My buddy and me quilts!

I just love how much my Zuko loves my quilts. If you don't have any pets then you are probably thinking why would you let your dog lay all over your quilts? But he is so cute! And I think he is the only one that appreciates and loves them as much as I do.
Afterall....he is the one that lays at my feet while I piece them together.... I actually think he loves the sound of the sewing machine.

Something to paint..

So I have been in the mood to paint something. I have been searching around different blogs for decorating ideas and found this blog:

Well then I happen to go to a garage sell and look what I found...

And it was in pretty bad shape so I started sanding with my hubby's fancy sander....

And, here we are, I think it's coming along pretty well, this is just primed, I still need to paint it satin white.

And of course the main reason why I bought it is because it gives me reason to make a doll quilt. I've always wanted to make one, now is the perfect time. I put together these cute nine patches but i'm not quit sure how I want to put them together.

Stay tuned....

gettin' into trouble

So we are putting our house up for sell, we are ready to go bigger so that is why I have not been sewing lately, I am trying to keep every room clean and if you are a quilter you understand that sometimes your sewing room can look like a tornado came thru by the end of the day.
So all I have been doing is touch up painting, spackling, and just fixing things up...well my husband remodeled the bathroom and I was so impressed with the tools he kept pulling out of the garage, I never noticed them before and never realized all the tools we have! Of course every tool he pulled out...the wheels in my mind were turning..just thinking about what I could do with those tools!!! hAha. WELL THIS IS WHERE THE TROUBLE COMES IN....
You have to check out this website I found...

Knock Off Wood

I love it! This is right up my alley, I want to get started right away on this bench

You haven't seen the last of me HAHAHA (deep laugh)

Sew N Tell Friday

I have not had a lot of time to sew lately. I have been doing a lot of decorating, decluttering and cleaning our home. But I was able to squeeze these 2 projects in....
I love this pin cushion, it's such a good way to use scraps and it is so easy to do! I have the tutorial from a previous post of mine...

Thanks so much for looking! Make sure to check out the other projects on AmyLouWho's Blog

Moda Baby

I love this quilt. I had a moda baby charm pack that I cut in half then just matched them up with there colors. I gave this quilt to my neighbor. I had to keep it non gender since they kept the sex of baby a secret.
I'm not too happy with this quilt. It is suppose to be given to a soldier. I used too many light green colors in the wrong places. Also this is one of the first I quilted on the long arm and I did green circles in the tree area and I used green thread so the back looks horrible. Oh well, it was for a good cause.....Although I don't really want to give it to anyone.

Tie one On!

Show N Tell Friday!! I finished the binding last night!
I did the quilting on the LongArm Quilting Machine.
In honor of our Soldiers! The pattern is called Tie one on!

It's made out of all my scraps, very fun to do! It's a free pattern that I found in my quilting newsletter.

Stash Quilting..

So I came up with a great idea, instead of going out and buying more fabric I can stay in and use the fabric I already have!! These 2 quilts are made using fabrics that I have on hand, I am trying so hard not to buy new fabric.
Moving on....I can't believe how much I can get done between 10pm-1am! This quilt only took me a couple hours to do. I worked on it Thursday night and finished it Friday Morning! Instead of cutting each square individually I just sewed 3 inch strips together..I think that was the trick! Anyway, I can't wait to throw this on the long arm and get quilting. And then I started on this strip quilt, it will be for a boy, you can't see too well but the navy blue fabric is actually paw prints, then the red has bones on it and the pale color are words that have everything to do with dogs....
So since I basically did a sewing blitz these past two nights I am now behind on housework (ugh) That means I don't know when I will be able to finish this quilt :( For now I need to get to bed, it is almost 2am and I can hear my dog snoring, haha. Goodnight~

Show n Tell Friday!

I finally have something to show today! I had this top done for quite some time, i just didn't want to show it until it was completely done.On Park City Girls blog she was asking everyone what there favorite part of quilting was. Mine definitely is the binding! It's the finishing touch, and my mother n law gave me these fancy (expensive) pins and they are wonderful to use, I will never go back to the cheepies again.
And I love it when the corners turn out perfect!
Here is a close up of the stippling, this is my first quilt that I quilted on a long arm machine!
My mother n' law just bought a long arm quilting frame and I get to use it. We have been learning together.
The back is pretty plain jane...

And here is the overall pattern, It's a disappearing nine patch...the easiest layout ever!

Thanks for looking. And don't miss out on the other projects....there is much more to see on Amylouwho's blog!
