My machine and I..

I thought this would be a great opportunity to show off my new purchase...It's a dream to sew on.

And I have mix feelings about this quilt, not even sure if I picked the right fabric for the binding. I've had this "Sleepy Time" charm pack for so long and I was unable to find anymore fabric from that line for the binding so I had to go with this...
I had to pick a green color so it would work for a girl or a boy. My neighbor is having a baby and they are not sure if it's a girl or boy, they are keeping it a surprise. And don't you love that corner?

And Ta DA!! Here it is...I stippled across the whole thing, it's not my favorite. Since there are so many white areas I should have picked a quilting design rather than stippling it. Trust me, it looks better in this picture than in person. This is my own pattern, it's a great idea if you have a charm pack. I just cut each 5 inch square in half, matched up the colors and started sewing. I also added strips of solids to make it bigger.
And here are some more blocks for my sampler quilt....
Thanks for looking! Make sure to check out the other Sew N Tells!

  9. What a wonderfully simple design for a baby quilt. It looks great. I think your binding looks fine. I often use 'other' fabrics for binding. I gnerally can't decide on binding until the quilt top is finished and it tells me what is required. Your sampler quilt is going to be stunning.
